Note that we are always accepting pitches for our ongoing "Spotlight" series in our newsletter, offering quick glimpses at public lands in the South. These pieces are quite short—600 words maximum—combining firsthand description with ecological, geological, and historical context, though we encourage creativity.
To pitch a spotlight, please send an email to editorial@southlands.media describing who you are and the public land you'd like to spotlight. Include “[pitch: spotlight]” in your subject line. Note that we are unable to pay for spotlights, but do credit writers and link to their work/portfolio.
